Jerritt Elliott - University of Texas Head Women's Volleyball Coach of the 2009 2nd ranked team in the Nation & 2008 U.S. National A2 Team Coach

Jerritt Elliott is hailed as one of the top coaches in the sport of volleyball. Two time Central Regional Coach of the Year, two time Big 12 Coach of the Year, two times Pacific Coach of the Year, and two times PAC 10 Coach of the Year.

Elliott has Texas back in the national spotlight.  He has taken the University of Texas Women’s Volleyball team from a Nationally non-ranked team to the second ranked team in the Nation.  He is among an elite group of coaches who have taken two different Universities to a Division I Final Four Championships.

Sarah Silvernail     Elliott

Sarah Silvernail Elliott named to the Washington State University Hall of Fame, two-time All-American and USA National Team Member

Sarah is a former USA National Team member and 6-year professional indoor international player.  She is the most honored volleyball player in Washington state’s Cougar history. A two-time All-American and the 1996 Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Year, Sarah still holds the WSU records for career kills (1,848); single season kills (649) and most kills in a game (39).

Don Hannah

Don Hannah, Vice President of Engineered Lubricants Company and an inductee of the University of Michigan College Football Hall of Fame

Don Hannah is Vice-President and minority owner of Engineered Lubricants Company in St. Louis, Mo.  He has been involved with the company for the last 35 years.

Don is very active in YMCA work as a volunteer at the YMCA of Greater St. Louis, South County Branch.  He received the most prestigious award given out annually by the YMCA of Greater St. Louis when he received the 2008 J Clinton Hawkins Award.  This award is given to an individual that shows exemplary and sustained volunteer leadership. 

Don played quarterback at the University of Michigan from 1957 to 1961.

Phil Hollingsworth

Board Treasurer

 

 

 

Phil Hollingsworth, Owner, Writer, and Musician. 

Hollingsworth is the owner of Hollingsworth Business and Accounting Services, and a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents.  He has been in the tax preparation business for 28 years. He is an expert at non-profit accounting tax laws. 

His interest also lies in education as Hollingsworth has written and published  independent study math and algebra courses. He is currently writing a similar course for Geometry.  His passion is to help high school youth pass the California HS Exit Exam. 

In the late 60's Hollingsworth was a member of the rock band Canterbury Fair in the late 60's..  The band is noted for recording many CD's. His band developed a sound combining the fashionable ominous heavy rock of the late 60's psychedelic with Baroque classical touches.

 Ron DeShay

Ron DeShay, Senior Producer "American Idol", Producer "So You Think You Can Dance", Keynote Speaker, Organizer/Developer of the Women's National Volleyball Association

Ron DeShay is best known for his work as Senior Producer of the runaway Fox hit series American Idol, starring Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul & Randy Jackson.  Ron is continually showcasing his talents as a reputable powerhouse within the Hollywood arena.  In addition to American Idol, DeShay is responsible for many programs America has come to know and love, including, So You Think You Can Dance, American Idol Extra and American Jrs.  DeShay's commitment to community and diversity on screen inspired him to direct BET's College Hill 2, and, under DeShay's leadership the show enjoyed unprecedented ratings.

DeShay was born into a family of athletes and entertainers, and his newest endeavor is the organizational and development of the Women's National Volleyball Association.  This marries Ron's two lifelong passions of television and volleyball.

 Albert Gasparian

Albert Gasparian, Dean of Physical Education, of Health and Athletics at Golden West College and winning volleyball coach

After 22 seasons as the Head Women's Volleyball Coach, in 2005 Albert Gasparian became the Dean of Physical Education, of Health and Athletics at Golden West College overseeing 17 sports and the Health and Physical Education Departments.

Albert's coaching career was impressive.  He had 12 consecutive California Community College State Championships with a record of 509-46 (.917 winning percentage)  He won 16 California Community College State Championships. He was named the World University Games coach three times.  He took the Women's Professional League to three (3) championships and he was named four times the National Junior College Coach of the Year.  Albert served as an advisor for the 1996 Women's Olympic Volleyball Team at the Atlanta Olympics.

Eddie Brown, Nike, Inc., Global Sports Marketing Business Director to Professional Tennis Instructor

Eddie Brown has taken on key leadership roles ranging from achieving the highest possible rating of P1 through the United States Tennis Professional Association to negotiating multi-million dollar contracts as Nike's, Inc., Global Sports Marketing Business Director. 

Eddie managed relationships with the IOC, USOC, FIVB, ISU, FINA, ISF, and numerous internatonal Governing Bodies of Sports. He lead a cross regional team to create global sports marketing plans for swimming and beach volleyball, and has served as Nike, INC/. Sports Marketing Director - Olympics, ACG, Training and Fitness

Mel just recently retired from a twenty-seven year career with the YMCA to become President of the Youth National Volleyball Association. 

Mel Elliott has a multi-faceted background, ranging from European studies, YMCA work, owning his own sports marketing business, to athletics.  The one common thread tying it all together is his desire to serve others.
